Christina works in all mediums and is influenced by Expressionism as it relates to colour, rhythm, contrast, shapes and light. She has exhibited by invitation at the International Art Fair in Guangzhou, southern China and in Slovenia. In her travels, Christina searches for conditions that imprint the character of the area into her memory. The serenity that pervades her paintings reflects her inner sense of excitement to interpret the visions. She communicates the magic and tranquility of the rich Australian landscape through a depth of richness of colour, texture, shapes and light having travelled extensively throughout Australia. Much time is spent exploring and painting around the greater Murray River region, its Wetlands and surrounds.Colour helps to penetrate the two dimensions by creating a depth of the inner self like a contemplative quality creating a peaceful state. It is an appreciation for the moment in time with colour predominating and affecting moods and energy with blurred boundaries.Christina’s art credentials are:Dip. Cullalo ArtHouse...the journey
Hi, my name is Anne and I'm the owner of Cullalo ArtHouse, a beautiful, classic 1930’s home in a leafy suburb very close to Albury CBD. My dream was to own an art gallery and in early in 2020 the concept of amalgamating a “Guest Suite Apartment” and “Art Gallery” started to take form. The home has high ceilings, large rooms and bold wall colours, ideal to allow for a very different experience of viewing art in a homely environment. Even if you’re NOT an art tragic, staying in Cullalo ArtHouse gives you the chance to spend a few days, not a few hours, surrounded by fabulous artworks created by local Albury artists. The history…The house is a solid brick California Bungalow built in 1933. It was originally a 2 bedroom home, but has been extended a number of times. The guest kitchen was originally an entrance porch, then was later extended to become a small bedroom with ensuite. The next owners took out the ensuite and enlarged the bedroom space. It is now a kitchen overlooking a beautiful garden courtyard setting. The main bedroom and lounge room are the original house and basically unchanged. The main bathroom was included in a renovation some years ago.The name…The Name “Cullalo” was on the front porch wall when I purchased the home in 2009. After some research I discovered the "Cullalo" quarries in the Cullalo Hills at Fife near the city of Perth in Scotland, which produce a quality sandstone used in many Scottish cities. Maybe previous owners of the house were Scottish! And the home is rendered in the tone of Cullalo sandstone!!Although I didn’t know about the name when I purchased the home, I always felt a sense of connection. Maybe that’s because my ancestors come from Scotland not far from Fife and the Cullalo Hills!!😀- You'd like to enquire about accommodation?...Say hello to Jane!
